Autumn Blessings on Our Country Ranch
"Antiques are my favorite thing to decorate with. They just have so much character."
Photo Above: I love to decorate with crocks, baskets and anything that is wood that looks old and worn. Like this old bucket and sifter. Antiques are my favorite thing to decorate with. They just have so much character.
Photo Above: I also mix in new things like this black shaker cupboard that I just recently purchased in Shipshewana, IN.
Photo Below: This black shelf is a new piece that I found in Shipshewana, IN.
Photo Above: This cupboard is an antique.
It was green when I purchased it and didn’t really care for the color, so I decided to paint it. It does have a screen door which I might put back on some day.
Photo Right: Antique firkins stacked from largest to smallest sit aside the antique cupboard in the entry.
Photo Above: We had the amish, in Arthur Illinois, design and build our kitchen cabinets. We went with quartersawn oak in the shaker style.
We also had them do all the trim and doors so that everything matches.
Photo Insert: We used the leaded glass windows from our old house and built them into the wall of our new home. We put one in the dining room above the green cupboard (see insert) and on the entertainment wall.
This meant a lot to us to be able to have a piece of our old home in our new.

I love the colonial look but find it hard sometimes to decorate with less. So I guess you can say our home is more country or farmhouse.
Fall is my favorite time of the year to decorate. I love the fall colors which you can see I have used a lot of throughout our home. I do have some antique pieces that happened to be in my store at the time of the fire.
I feel very blessed for that.
Hope you enjoy the tour of just a few rooms in our home!

I hope you enjoyed your tour of
Sherri's Country Home!
I am, for now,ASAHWM. I closed my country store, after nine years, in July 2008.
In June 2008 we had a devastating fire. We lost most everything that my DH , of 27 years, and I had collected over the years.
Instead of trying to rebuild our 100 year old home, we decided to build new. This was a very difficult decision for me.I loved the old character of our home but we found a great contractor that worked with us
to bring some of that character into our new home.
