Photo left: "The pantry was my grandmother's and I remember her  keeping all her canned goods in it. It became mine when my sister, who bought my grandparents' home, decided they didn't want it. It was  on the way to the garbage when
I found out about it. I am so thankful I was able to rescue it for my own home. It's one of my most treasured possessions."

Photo left:"One of my favorite family heirlooms
is this antique rocker that belonged to my great-grandmother. I remember us rocking in it together when I was very young.
I treasure it, and it would be  the first thing I would grab if the house caught fire :-)
"My favorite room in our home is my dining room. It's filled with several special pieces."

Stephen also built the black corner cabinet and the shelf. "I am blessed that he loves to  build things for our home", states Kathy. Most of her accessories were found at yard/ farm sales and antique stores, plus many are family treasures too.

Photo above: The dining room table was built by Kathy's husband, Stephen, several years ago.
She wanted a farmhouse table but couldn't find one. With his help, they designed and built this one to fit their small room.
Photo above: Black Eyed Susans adorn a crock that belonged to Kathy's grandmother. Her grandmother used the crock to mix pancake batter, many years ago. It was one of the very first pieces that Kathy inherited and it is one piece that she truly loves!

Kathy stitched up the two little wool pillows last Fall. She, also made all the stitcheries in the house. Her favorites are the alphabet ones.
Stephen built the black cabinet in the living room to use as an entertainment center, and crafted all the other wooden pieces in the room, with the exception of the pew which came from the little church that Kathy attended when she was a child.

"My Dad rescued that for me, and I love that he did that for me. The quilt hanging on the back of the pew was a gift from special friends Linda Rudman and Carolee LeBlanc, when my Dad passed away last November."

"The small distressed red cupboard was the very first piece that  Stephen built me WAY back when I first started loving country
decorating and primitives. It was originally green, but we updated the look in recent years with some red paint and stain...a small treasure with lots of sentimental value. The baby cup in the center was mine, and the one on the left was my grandmother's."

"We really love the open concept of our little cottage;
the kitchen, dining room and living room are all one big open space which makes it  seem much larger. It's a wonderful spot for entertaining family and friends."

Stephen built several of the pieces in these rooms, including the shelves, cabinets and the dough board on the stove.

Photo below: "The newest cabinet Stephen built for me is this off white cabinet with the drawers. I really like the soft colors. Lately, I have been adding some lighter touches to our home,
so I had my hubby paint and distress this one for me in Powell Buff by Benjamin Moore and finished off with a stain."
